Hello All, We are now in the airport awaiting our 9:00 A.M. departure for Beijing. We have hada very long, but fortunately uneventful journey. Oh, wait, a camera missisng, but retrieved,i an airplane air conditioning unit, a couple of dropped boarding cards, and some drama to get one back. No lost students , but very tired ones.
All the flights were on time and we enjoyed the personalized tv sets on the 13 1/2 hour flight between LA and Hong Kong. Most folks slept at least a few hours, but we will rejoice when we finally reach a bed tonight.
We have not met up with the Chicago delegation yet. We found out in Pittsburgh that their Chicago to LA flight was cancelled and they were booked on a direct flight from Chicago to Beijing. That means they have been there for hours already and we will meet them around lunch time.
Right now many of the delegates are sitting in the children's area of this large gate and watching cartoons in Chinese. Cute! Talk with you again as soon as we can. Leigh
